Industrial B2B · catalogue

An industrial catalogue that loads in under 300 milliseconds

A B2B catalogue of 23 products for EGEA, a Romanian manufacturer of steel scaffolding. Next.js, structured data, and a quote request instead of a shopping cart.

The EGEA home page: a background photo of a modular house, the headline “Case modulare la cheie”, the counter “30+ ani construit în RO”, and the strip of certifications — ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and the EN 12810, EN 12811 and EN 1004 standards.
egea.ro

EGEA has been making scaffolding, ladders, formwork and livestock equipment since 1995, in the Brazi industrial park. It sells to construction firms and farms, not to consumers — so it doesn't need a shopping cart. It needs a catalogue an engineer or a buyer opens, compares, and forwards as a request for a quote.

A catalogue site lives or dies on two things: how fast you reach the product you came for, and whether the technical information is complete. The rest is decoration.

What I built

Piece by piece

01

23 products, 6 categories, one logic

Scaffolding, ladders, construction, livestock equipment, accessories and modular houses — every product with its own page, carrying dimensions, maximum loads, finish options and a starting price. Plus a technical data sheet to download, for the person who has to take it further inside the company.

02

Every product declared as a product

Product schema with brand, category and offers on each page, over a complete LocalBusiness — postal address, opening hours for all seven days, year founded. The starting price goes into the meta description, so it shows up directly in the Google result: “From 360 EUR + VAT”, in a market where everyone else writes “request a quote”.

03

111 images, with nothing given up on speed

A catalogue means a lot of images. 109 of the 111 load lazily, all of them have alt text, all of them go through image optimisation with size sets up to 3840px. The main image and the fonts are preloaded. The home page comes out at 613 KB, a product page at 17 KB.

04

Accessible, not only fast

A skip-to-content link, loading states announced to screen readers, labelled navigation. Things nobody notices until they actually need them.

Measured

The numbers, not the adjectives

Measured directly on the live site, on 10 August 2026. Anyone who opens the developer tools in their browser can check them.
